Secondary School

Years 9-12

At Brisbane Christian College, we recognise the need to provide suitable pathways for all students throughout their Senior Phase of Learning.
In Years 9-10, our goal is to help children further discover what they are passionate about and to prepare them for their final schooling years.
From Years 10 to 12 we offer a range of subjects so students are able to focus on the areas on which they want to build their future careers.
To that end, we offer two Pathways of Excellence, one Academic and one Apprenticeship. As a College we want to empower our learners to embrace their futures, we will discuss a range of options for students wishing to pursue individualised avenues of education. Your child remains the focal point in all that we do, and our aim is to provide each child with options to meet their individual education goals.

Our Secondary School curriculum is designed with a strong academic focus to meet the needs of graduates considering further studies following Year 12. Our flexible timetabling allows children to complete a range of qualifications whilst remaining at Brisbane College. From Apprenticeship programs, sporting and ministry opportunities, Certificate courses through to University subjects, we know that your child will be prepared for their future in the real world.

The Instrumental Music Program offers tuition to students in Years 1-12 for piano, strings and percussion; Years 2-12 for guitar and voice; and Years 3-12 for brass and woodwind depending on the instrument and size of the student. Students in younger year levels are considered on an individual basis.

Musical Cast having a blast at the stage

Middle & Secondary School Musical

Students in Middle and Secondary School have the opportunity to participate in the musical which is held on a yearly basis. There are different roles both behind the scenes (production team and set making) and on the main stage (band, acting and solos and ensemble). Auditions are held in term 1 and then performed to the community at the end of term 2, this means that no matter what grade the students are in they can be a part of the musical without it interfering with their exams.

Year 9 Adventure Camp

We provide this camp for all Year 9 students. This is an authentic camping experience that takes students out of their comfort zone, developing resilience and providing opportunities to develop independence.

Year 10 Adventure Camp

Students experience camping under the stars at Girraween National Park and see the beautiful Granite Belt Region. They spend time team-building with their cohort completing activities like abseiling, canoeing, sports, campfire cooking, and bushwalking.

UQ Boot Camp

This boot camp is held at the beginning of each year and provides an opportunity for Years 11 and 12 students to get a glimpse into university life. Students bond with each other while they explore the different pathways into university.

Year 11 Men’s Retreat and Year 11 Women’s Retreat

This is a chance for all students in Year 11 to create closer bonds with their fellow students of the same gender. These camps are separate from one another and create an opportunity for students to hear from God, have fun and create memories.

Reflections Camp

Reflections camp is a celebration of our Year 12 students’ graduation. The camp is held in Noosa and students can participate in activities like go-karting, paddle boarding, and relaxing beach trips. Our aim is to give our students a fantastic time whilst also protecting them from the hazards of the traditional schoolies experience.

Cambodia Missions Trip

Partnering with RAW Impact our students from Middle and Secondary School have the opportunity to do a yearly missions trip in Cambodia. This is a cultural experience that includes team-building mixed with helping communities provide sustainable livelihoods through initiatives such as intensive farming and agricultural initiatives. This trip is self-funded by students as well as fundraising throughout the year.
