Community Hub FAQ

How do I log into the Community Hub?

What is my Community Hub Login?

All parents have recently been emailed their parent Community Hub username. Check your email inbox and junk folders for “How to Access the Community Hub”. If you still can’t find your username, please email hubhelp@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au.

Where can I find the home learning content?

Each year level will post home learning programs and resources on their Year Level page on the Community Hub by 4pm each afternoon for the following day. Click Here for a video on how to find and use your class and year level communication pages.

Where can I find my class Zoom call meeting details?

Online daily zoom calls with your class teacher are available on the individual class communication page. Click Here for a video on how to find and use your class and year level communication pages.

What time is my Zoom class meeting?

Zoom calls will be held on the following schedule:

Prep – 9:00am
Year 1– 9:30am
Year 2 – 10:00am
Year 3 – 11:00am
Year 4 – 11:30am
Year 5 – 12:00pm

Why can’t I sign into the Zoom App to join the group call?

For Primary Families
As attendees of the class group calls, students or parents are not required to sign in. Simply click on the “Join” button and wait for your class teacher to add you to the call. You will not be asked to login. 

Why doesn’t my Zoom call connect properly?

If you are are using Safari, try to disable the setting for cross site cookies. If you are still having difficulty connecting to the zoom call, please email ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au describing your problem.

iPAD FAQ

My iPad cannot connect to the internet when at home

There can be a number of possible issues so we will run through a few steps to try. Is the student able to access the Learning Hub? If so, they need to make sure they have clicked on the ‘Activate Internet’ icon. The first time the iPad is used from home, it will also prompt for a username and password. This is the student’s ID number and their College password.

If the student is not being prompted for a username and password, and the Internet isn’t accessible, please turn off the iPad by holding down the power button and swiping across the screen when prompted. Wait 30 seconds and then turn it back on. 

What if I have forgotten my iPad passcode?

Please log an IT request by emailing ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au and we will remove the passcode from the device.

What if I have forgotten my College/email password?

Please log an IT request by emailing ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au and we will reset your password.

My iPad will not turn on

Please make sure the iPad is charged and that you have tried turning the iPad on without the case on. If the iPad will still not turn on, please log an IT request by emailing ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au and we will organise a swap unit.

I have damaged my iPad

Please log an IT request by emailing ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au and including a photo of the damage. We will organise a swap unit if required.

My iPad keyboard is not working

Please make sure the keyboard has been charged using the black micro USB cable and is turned on. You should notice the backlight under the keys coming on. If the keyboard is still not working, please log an IT request by emailing ithelpdesk@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au and we will organise a swap unit.

Can I install apps on the iPad?

No, only the College IT Team can install new apps on the College iPads. All College iPad devices are provided with the applications and resources required to fulfil their learning program set by the College teaching team. If you would like to request additional resources to assist your learning, please discuss with your class teacher.

Can apps be installed on the iPad by the College?

Yes, in the event an additional app is required, the class/subject teacher will organise for the app to be installed remotely by the IT Department.

Can I request an additional app be installed to assist with your child’s learning?

Yes, If you would like to request additional resources to assist your child’s learning, please discuss with your class teacher. Apps need to go through an evaluation and testing phase prior to be deployed to the iPads.

Websites I need to access for school work are being blocked

Please contact your class teacher. They can submit a request to have the site allowed.
