Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network

Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network

With the support of Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ), the peak sector organisation for all independent schools throughout Queensland, the Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network (QISPN) has recently been formed.

Our purpose is to:

  • Ensure parents and carers of students in independent schools are equally represented at the policy-making tables of governments and other peak educational bodies in Queensland; Currently, State school and Catholic school parents have strong parent networks, and likewise our sector wants to have a well-respected voice at these policy and decision making tables too;
  • Work with our colleagues in State and Catholic education to improve school funding and student outcomes in all schools in Queensland.
  • Provide an informative website where parents and carers can:
    • Get informed about important educational issues and changes
    • Get involved by having a say on topics that matter to them
    • Share what they know through a regular newsletter

QISPN respects the diversity of this sector, and support the desire of parents and carers to choose a school best suited to their children. We focus on policy and advocacy, NOT on individual school issues, nor local P and F matters. Nor are we a body for receiving complaints of any kind.

Parents and carers are invited to look at the website www.parentsnetwork.qld.edu.au and subscribe (free) to receive our regular newsletters. Subscriptions are important to us, as they are our chief means of communicating directly with you.
