Prep

We desire to help our students develop their highest possible academic potential as well as discover and fully develop their God-given gifts, guiding them to take significant steps into the destiny God has prepared for them.

Prep is where your child will build a foundation for the formal learning years at Brisbane Christian College; continuing their education while on campus with Primary School students from Year 1 to Year 5.

Children can grow in confidence knowing they are being nurtured by the same teaching team for a two-year rotation from Prep to Year 7. This enables our teachers to develop strong relationships with our families, offering stability and momentum in their academic and social development.

At Brisbane Christian College, we aspire to excellence in all areas of our teaching and we work hard to develop an innovative program that covers all areas of the Australian Curriculum.

Literacy

The Literacy Collective is a high-impact program that uses emoji symbols and research-based pedagogy to assist in the foundational development of phonological awareness. The use of this program provides our students with the skills to break down and create words easily and develops their confidence in reading and writing.

Stacked Books

Integrated Studies

The core subjects of our Integrated Studies program are Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Science, English, Technologies, and The Arts. Integrated Studies inspires students’ interest in an exciting topic and then leverages the children’s interest on that topic for learning opportunities across multiple subjects.

Football

Sport

In Prep, students have the opportunity to participate in a Gymnastics program each week during the first semester. They also participate in swimming lessons during Term 4. During the year, the Prep students also participate in the College’s Cross-Country and Primary Athletics Carnivals. It is expected that all students participate in these activities.

Library

Weekly Library lessons and borrowing books from the College Library is an exciting experience for each child.
